On May 14, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering held a cooperation exchange meeting with the University of Technology Sarawak (Malaysia) and SciTech Engineering Co., Ltd. at the Transportation Building. Attendees included Yu Rong, Party Secretary of the School; Wang Dazhong, Vice Dean; Zhou Xiaozhou, Deputy Director of the International Office; Deng Shengxiang and Shen Jun, Director and Deputy Director of the Energy and Power Engineering Department; and Xu Zhiwei, International Exchange Secretary. The meeting was chaired by Wang Dazhong.
Yu Rong welcomed the delegation from Malaysia and expressed hope to strengthen academic and cultural exchanges and expand cooperation. Zhou Xiaozhou stated that the meeting built a communication platform and laid the foundation for future cooperation agreements. Deng Shengxiang introduced the college’s research strengths and cooperation foundation.
Johnson Yap, General Manager of SciTech Engineering, introduced the company’s extensive experience in aluminum and energy industries. Alan Huong Yong Ting, Director of the Design and Engineering Center at the University of Technology Sarawak, shared the university’s achievements in engineering technology.
The participants had lively discussions on talent cultivation and faculty-student exchanges. The three parties reached a preliminary consensus on establishing a joint laboratory and will focus on cooperation in energy and power, green manufacturing, and other fields. They will promote faculty and student exchanges, joint research, summer exchange and credit recognition programs for Malaysian students, and bring in Malaysian experts to enhance internationalization.
