To enhance the level of international talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation, and promote international university-enterprise exchanges, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering held a seminar on “Waste Heat Utilization and Energy Storage Projects” on June 28–29 at the Shanghai University of Engineering Science–Malaysia Joint International Laboratory for New Energy and Energy-Saving Equipment and Artificial Intelligence Technology. Attendees included Xiang Rongyi, Senior Advisor of Malaysia’s Press Metal Group; Zheng Hongjie, Deputy General Manager of Press Metal; Yang Goh from the Safety and Environmental Department; Yap PW from Press Silicon Tech; Ye Zhuangsheng, General Manager of Malaysia’s SciTech Engineering; Deng Shengxiang and Shen Jun, Director and Deputy Director of the Energy and Power Engineering Department; and representatives from the joint laboratory.

Deng Shengxiang introduced the development of offshore wind power technology in China and globally, and proposed new ideas and suggestions for the construction of the international joint laboratory in light of new characteristics and challenges in global wind power development. He expressed hope to accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productivity through the international cooperation platform.
Participants shared the latest research findings and technological breakthroughs in their respective fields. Both sides engaged in lively discussions on joint laboratory construction and advanced technologies in waste heat utilization and energy storage.

The seminar not only deepened mutual understanding of waste heat utilization, wind power, and energy storage technologies, but also laid a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation. In the future, the joint laboratory will continue to lead technological innovation in related fields and support the sustainable development of China–Malaysia energy cooperation.
