On October 14, the International Joint Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence Technology in New Energy and Energy-Saving Electromechanical Equipment and the Institute of New Energy and Energy-Saving Technology of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering held a science outreach event on “Modern Energy-Saving Technologies” in the Training Building. Faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students from the Energy and Power Engineering Department attended the event.

Professor Deng Shengxiang, Director of the Energy and Power Engineering Department, provided on-site explanations of cutting-edge professional information, systematically introducing the energy-saving technologies for non-ferrous metallurgical furnaces developed by the Shanghai University of Engineering Science–Malaysia Joint International Laboratory, their application effectiveness, and their driving role in related industries, as well as several other energy-saving technologies developed by the team.

This outreach event strongly promoted knowledge of modern energy-saving technologies in China, explained the profound significance of promoting these technologies, and analyzed the feasibility of promoting such technologies in line with the economic and social development of Songjiang District. It contributed to advancing energy conservation and emission reduction efforts in Shanghai and across the country, and supports the achievement of China’s “dual carbon” goals.
