Recently, the list of winners of the 5th Shanghai College Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition was released. Li Peiqi from the School of Aeronautics and Aviation and Hu Guo from the School of Urban Rail Transit won first prizes in the New Liberal Arts category and the Industry-Education Integration category, respectively. Shu Chang from the School of Foreign Languages won second prize in the Basic Courses category. Li Peichao from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Zhou Jing from the School of Mathematics and Physics, Wu Yuanqiong from the School of Foreign Languages, and Liu Zheng from the School of Management received Merit Awards in the New Engineering, Basic Courses, Curriculum Ideology and Politics, and Industry-Education Integration categories, respectively. All seven teachers recommended by our university were successful and received awards, and the university was also honored with the Excellent Organization Award.

Since the launch of the competition, the university has attached great importance to it. The Center for Faculty Teaching Development made careful arrangements, and all schools and participating teachers actively cooperated to provide comprehensive support and resources for the contestants. Through a series of university-level activities related to the Teaching Innovation Competition held over five consecutive years, the university has guided teachers to adopt innovative teaching concepts, continuously explore innovations in instructional design and teaching methods, and enhance their teaching competence and standards.
These awards not only recognize the individual teaching innovation capabilities of the participating teachers but also serve as a strong endorsement of our university’s overall teaching quality and its achievements in discipline and program development. Looking ahead, the university will continue to advance higher education teaching reform in depth, further enhance teachers’ instructional capabilities, and contribute to cultivating more high-caliber application-oriented talents who can meet the development needs of the new era.
